Hendon has been an elected official since 1988, rising up from city councilman of the 27th ward in Chicago. He has won 16 elections. Hendon discusses at length the campaign for commissioner of the Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago. Patricia Horton, against the odds, was elected in 2006. Her successful campaign for this hotly contested office owed much to the tireless and crafty efforts of Hendon. Hendon describes the petition process—getting on the ballot and knocking your opponents off the ballot.
